The oldest Polish scholarly journal covering library and book studies, bibliography and information science, with abstracts in English and contents indexed in Library and Information Science Abstracts. Published quarterly since 1927, the periodical from very beginning has attracted the cooperation of most outstanding scholars and practitioners of Polish librarianship.

Przegląd Biblioteczny reflects contemporary research trends in library and information science and book studies; it presents also practical solutions in use. The most popular and most highly-rated scientific journal in librarianship area, from 2007 is evaluated by Ministry of Science and Higher Education with rating of 9 points for Polish scholarly journals.
