Poradnik Bibliotekarz,a published since 1949, is a popular journal for public, school and pedagogic library staff, focused on issues in the domain of readership and library promotion, educational and cultural activities of libraries, recent solutions in information technologies used in libraries, and other topics useful in modern librarianship.
The journal has its own website, started in 2008. Since 2008 issues published in 1999-2007 are available in digital form at this adres.
Poradnik Bibliotekarza is accompanied by special supplements published several times a year (IFLA Guidelines, bibliographies, dictionaries, etc), published in the series Librarian’s Guide Little Library. The journal has also specific topic inserts; for example in 2010 dedicated to new media in libraries and libraries for young.
Since 2007 the journal publishes a colored monthly insert Świat Książki Dziecięcej (The World of Children’s Book). The insert is focused on the children and young readership promotion, children librarianship, as well as the children literature promotion. The insert gives Polish and foreign library best practices, reviews of recent publications and interviews with writers, report on book market, best practices in children readership promotion.
